An eleven-year-old girl has died following a tragic incident at Wacker Quay, a popular beauty spot in Cornwall. Emergency crews were called to the area near the village of Antony at approximately six o’clock on Saturday evening after concerns were raised about a person in the water.
The girl, who was from South Devon, was recovered by rescuers and received emergency treatment at the scene. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
Devon and Cornwall Police have indicated that the girl’s death is not being treated as suspicious. A spokesperson for the police confirmed that her next of kin have been informed and will receive support from officers during this difficult time.
Additionally, the police have stated that a file will be prepared for the coroner as part of the investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
