The Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Madrid has formally requested the indictment of former Socialist Party member Leire Díez. This follows her alleged attempts to bribe two prosecutors, Ignacio Stampa and José Grinda, for sensitive information regarding ongoing legal investigations. This request also targets business owner Javier Pérez Dolset and journalist Pere Rusiñol. Legal sources have confirmed this decree was sent to Judge Arturo Zamarriego, who is currently handling Díez’s case.

Díez faces accusations linked to her attempts to influence judicial processes, with her questioning scheduled for November eleventh. In a related development, the prosecutor Grinda reported a written offer he received, attributed to high-ranking state officials, promising a foreign position and civil compensation in exchange for dismissing multiple investigations. Similarly, Stampa met with Díez and Pérez Dolset, who allegedly attempted to solicit sensitive information about ongoing investigations.

The judge has dismissed the Fiscalía’s request to consolidate these various cases, stating that the reported incidents are not connected to the existing charges against Díez. As the situation evolves, the Audiencia Provincial de Madrid will ultimately determine whether to merge these investigations into one judicial proceeding.
