A tragic incident occurred on Saturday in the area of El Pontón, in the municipality of Requena, Valencia, where two local residents lost their lives following the crash of an ultralight plane. The accident took place at approximately eleven twenty-five in the morning. Emergency services from SAMU arrived but could only confirm the fatalities upon their arrival.

Initial reports indicate that the plane crashed in an agricultural area, resulting in the destruction of most of the aircraft and leading to a small fire. Firefighters from the Provincial Consortium of Valencia were successful in extinguishing the blaze. The identities of the deceased were confirmed as the sole occupants of the aircraft, both residing in Valencia.

The Civil Guard has taken charge of the investigation into the incident, with updates provided by local emergency services. The Emergency Coordination Centre reported receiving an alert regarding the crash at twelve twenty-four, indicating the location near kilometre four hundred and forty-three of the national road three hundred and thirty-two, towards Albacete.

In addition to firefighters, the response included patrols from the Civil Guard and local police, along with a fire engine to manage the situation on the ground.
