A tragic accident on the N-310 near Sisante, Cuenca, on Sunday has resulted in the deaths of five individuals, including three minors. The collision occurred at approximately sixteen forty-seven hours, when a car and a van collided head-on, according to preliminary reports from the emergency services.

Emergency responders reported that six people were trapped within the wreckage of the vehicles. Tragically, five fatalities were confirmed shortly after the incident. The deceased included three children who were passengers in the van alongside two adults.

Four other occupants from both vehicles sustained injuries and were promptly transported to Albacete General Hospital for treatment. The response team included a medical professional, two ambulances, an emergency medical vehicle, and two helicopters from the Regional Health Service of Castilla-La Mancha.

This collision is part of a worrying trend, as sources from the Directorate General for Traffic have reported that eleven people, including two motorcyclists, have lost their lives on Spanish roads during the recent Santiago holiday weekend, with nine others injured in seven fatal accidents.
