A tragic incident has occurred in Valls, Tarragona, where a two and a half year old boy has lost his life after being locked inside a car. The emergency services received an alert at three oh six in the afternoon. Firefighters arrived promptly to free the child from the vehicle, which was parked in an industrial area of the town.

Despite the quick response and efforts from the Sistema d’Emergències Mèdiques, which dispatched a medicalised ambulance to perform resuscitation attempts, the child’s life could not be saved. According to police sources, the Mossos d’Esquadra have launched an investigation to clarify the circumstances of this tragic event.

The child’s father, who has not been detained, is currently receiving psychological support from police officials. On the same day as this incident, the weather agency, Aemet, issued a yellow alert for high temperatures in the region, forecasting maximums that could reach thirty-six degrees Celsius.
