Operation MINERVA Twenty Five commences today, coordinated by the Policía Nacional and FRONTEX across key ports in Algeciras, Ceuta, and Tarifa. The initiative brings together one hundred twenty-nine experts from fifteen member states, including Germany, France, and Italy, to address challenges related to illegal immigration and enhance border management.

The operation continues until the third of September, aiming not only to combat illegal immigration but also to disrupt cross-border crime. Authorities will pay special attention to human trafficking, drug smuggling, and vehicle trafficking, collecting crucial intelligence to aid investigations.

Last year’s operation reported three thousand seven hundred twenty-nine police actions resulting in two hundred thirty-four arrests, highlighting the ongoing challenges in these regions. This collaborative effort underscores the commitment of European nations to effectively manage border security and prevent criminal activities.

According to authorities, involvement in the operation features specialists in various areas, such as document forgery and canine support, all directed towards maintaining a secure and efficient border.
