A fugitive wanted in connection with a murder in Saint-Etienne, France, has been captured by the Police Nacional in Alicante. The suspect allegedly killed a man whose body was discovered on February ninth, with forensic evidence indicating severe skull injuries and signs of strangulation.

The investigation began when French authorities issued a European Arrest Warrant in March, seeking the individual believed to be involved in the crime. Initial inquiries revealed that the suspect was possibly hiding in Spain and may have planned to flee to Algeria.

According to reports, the suspect was moving frequently between provinces in an effort to evade capture. His movements were monitored closely by law enforcement agencies from both France and Spain.

The investigations culminated in the successful identification and arrest of the fugitive in Alicante, where he now awaits further legal proceedings. If convicted in France, he could face a maximum of thirty years in prison.
