Two individuals have died following a serious car crash on the seafront of Fuengirola. The incident occurred on Thursday night, when the driver, a forty-five-year-old woman, reportedly lost control of her vehicle, crashing into a lamp-post. After fleeing the scene at high speed, she struck another vehicle, causing significant chaos and injuries to several bystanders.

Local authorities have confirmed that the driver was arrested at the scene after tests showed she was over the legal alcohol limit and had no valid driving licence. Among the deceased are the driver’s forty-seven-year-old passenger and a twenty-five-year-old pedestrian.

Emergency services rushed to the scene after receiving numerous calls about the accident that took place near the Carvajal beach. They treated at least eight individuals who sustained minor injuries, with medical assistance provided promptly on site.

Investigations are ongoing, as Fuengirola Local Police look into the events surrounding the crash. Both National Police and firefighters have also been deployed to assist in the investigation and manage the aftermath of the incident.
