Eyewitness accounts reflect a general sense of panic; one individual called it the ‘strongest quake I have ever felt in my life’. The earthquake’s epicentre was recorded just five kilometres from Torrevieja and reached a magnitude of three, as reported by the Instituto Geografico Nacional.
