The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has announced the start of payments amounting to three point nine million euros in direct aid for two hundred and fifty two new farmers and ranchers impacted by the recent DANA weather event. With this latest payment, the total assistance provided through this aid line reaches sixty nine point six million euros, benefiting eight thousand three hundred and thirty five recipients.

Farmers and ranchers from the provinces of Valencia and Almería are included in the list of beneficiaries, which is accessible through the electronic headquarters of the Spanish Agricultural Guarantee Fund. Each farmer or rancher can receive a maximum aid of twenty five thousand euros, while the minimum assistance is five thousand euros, provided they have not previously received direct aid to businesses and professionals approved by the Government.

In the case that beneficiaries have received such prior assistance, the amount granted under this latest scheme will be reduced accordingly. The government aims to alleviate the financial strain on agricultural workers resulting from the adverse weather conditions, reinforcing support for the agricultural sector.

In the coming weeks, the Ministry will publish additional lists on the FEGA website, including more farmers and ranchers eligible for these non-reimbursable aid payments.
