A mother and her nineteen-year-old son, who were kidnapped from their home in the upscale area of El Salobre, Gran Canaria, have been freed and are reported to be safe. Police sources confirmed their rescue, attributing it to the considerable pressure exerted by law enforcement since the kidnapping was reported. The incident took place on Wednesday, the fifteenth of March, twenty twenty-five.

The details surrounding the circumstances of their release remain undisclosed as investigations continue. Authorities have not revealed if a ransom was paid or how the operation unfolded, emphasising that the case is still under secrecy due to its sensitive nature.

The National Police are currently searching for two suspects believed to have entered the villa armed and in a vehicle last Wednesday evening. A relative raised the alarm after failing to contact them and suspected something was amiss.

Investigators are also looking into potential connections between the kidnapping and the business dealings of the victims’ family, particularly regarding possible links to drug trafficking activities, as further specialised teams have been deployed to assist in the inquiry from the mainland.
