Carlos Mazón, the President of the Generalitat, has firmly denied any plans to resign regarding his management of the flooding from the twenty ninth of October. Addressing questions from journalists upon his arrival at a vocational training congress, he shifted responsibility to others who he believes failed to alert the public about the deadly flood at the Poyo ravine.

Mazón stated that inquiries on his whereabouts during the incident should be made towards those who neglected to notify authorities about the imminent danger. He reiterated that he received more than sixteen calls during that period, emphasizing he was in communication with responsible parties.

He asserted that he was not isolated from information on the crisis and criticized those spreading false claims about his situation at the time. Mazón expressed frustration with ongoing narratives surrounding the response to the flood events, urging people to stop circulating what he labelled as lies.

His comments come amidst rising concerns among the Valencian community regarding leadership accountability following the tragic events of the flooding. Mazón maintains he acted within the scope of his responsibilities despite the criticisms launched against him.
