The Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, alongside the Councillor for Animal Protection, Beatriz Lloret, has visited the construction site of the new municipal animal shelter located on Avenida de Los Nenúfares. The first NHS patient outside of clinical trials has received histotripsy, a pioneering ultrasound treatment for liver cancer, at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. The hospital is the first in Europe to offer the procedure outside trials. The Office for National Statistics says the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) rose by 3.8% in September, unchanged from July and August. Economists had expected a reading closer to 4%. National Police agents have arrested a twenty-six-year-old man as a suspect in two violent robberies, fraud, and assault after he attacked couples approaching the pedestrian accesses to Santa Bárbara Castle in Alicante using a simulated firearm.
