Tom Daley launches Channel 4 knitting show Game Of Wool after diving retirement
Tom Daley has fronted a new Channel 4 programme about knitting after retiring from diving. The show, titled Game Of Wool, is hosted by Daley, who is 31, with Di Gilpin and Sheila Greenwell serving as judges. Ten knitters compete in a series of challenges to determine Britain’s first television knitting champion.
Daley retired from diving after the 2024 Olympic Games, collecting three bronze medals, one silver and one gold. He knitted an Olympic-themed jumper in Paris 2024 and says knitting is a passion. He described taking on a solo presenting role as a new experience and found the start nerve-wracking until the contestants and judges helped him feel at ease.
The series is set in rural Scotland and each episode includes a group knit performed by teams and an individual knit that tests each participant’s skill. Game Of Wool will premiere on Sunday 2 November at 20:00 on Channel 4.
