An instrument owned by Noel Gallagher that was damaged on the night Oasis split is heading to auction. The 1960s red Gibson ES-355 was damaged during a backstage brawl at Rock en Seine in Paris in 2009. The pre-sale estimate for the guitar is £250,000–£500,000 (€292,500–€585,000).

Propstore’s two-day music memorabilia live auction will feature around 150 Oasis items, alongside more than 550 lots from other celebrated artists, with a combined estimate exceeding £3 million. Noel Gallagher’s Takamine FP460SC acoustic guitar, used to record Wonderwall, is estimated at £200,000–£400,000 (€234,000–€468,000). Zak Starkey, former Oasis drummer, said: “I’m extremely proud of my work with Oasis and being able to give fans the opportunity to purchase genuine memorabilia in Propstore’s music auction is a way of them being able to share the journey.” The auction calendar includes John Lennon’s Lost Weekend tinted glasses (£150,000–£300,000; €175,500–€351,000) and Michael Jackson’s Smooth Criminal white fedora (£40,000–£80,000; €46,800–€93,600).

Other items include Freddie Mercury’s kimono and Elvis Presley’s grand prix sunglasses, both estimated at £8,000–£16,000 (€9,360–€18,720), and Jimi Hendrix’s handwritten lyrics for Straight Ahead (£40,000–£80,000; €46,800–€93,600). Mark Hochman, Propstore’s music specialist, described the sale as a celebration of music history and cultural touchstones that inspired millions.
