Her remarks echo details in Prince Harry’s memoir Spare about the difficult days after the Queen’s death when he and Meghan were separated from Archie and Lilibet for longer than they had ever experienced. They eventually reunited in California, after days of close contact with the children. The couple stayed in Britain longer than planned to take part in mourning and public appearances, including greeting mourners at Windsor and attending the funeral in September 2022. The King and the royal family were grieving Elizabeth II at the time, amid tensions between Harry and his brother.

Beyond family life, the show follows Meghan cooking and crafting with friends, including recreations of fast-food items and a lavender-grey latte. She notes her children would like a cat, mentions her daughter’s liking for pink, and recalls Archie being described as tender. The programme contains no in-person appearances by Harry, Archie or Lili; Harry is shown only in photographs. The second series comes two weeks after the couple announced a diluted Netflix deal, described as a multi-year, first-look arrangement. The report cited earlier terms as US$100 million (€92.0 million) and £74 million (€85.1 million).
