Tommy Fury has said he was drinking heavily in the period before his split from Molly-Mae Hague. The boxer, 26, revealed he was consuming up to 20 shots a night and drinking to the point of blackout. The couple, who met on Love Island in 2019, have a daughter, Bambi. News of their August 2024 split sparked speculation about infidelity. Fury features in a BBC Three documentary series, Tommy: The Good, The Bad, The Fury, in which he discusses the alcohol problems that followed an injury to his hand. He told the programme that the end of the relationship was down to alcohol and that he could not train or box because his hand caused him pain and affected his life and identity.

In the first episode, Fury’s father John says he urged Hague to walk away if Fury did not change after the drinking began. Fury describes his drinking as “20 shots a night, 20 beers” and says he drank to blackout, which he says led to him being unable to be the partner Hague deserved. He recalls that when Hague left the family home with their daughter, he was intoxicated and cannot fully remember the moment, which he says was upsetting. He adds that the moment was the last time they were all together while he was in that state.

The couple have since rekindled their relationship, with Hague saying she believes it is “worth saving”. The BBC Three documentary is available on BBC iPlayer and BBC Three, with part two expected later this year.
