Tottenham confirm Djed Spence contract extension
Tottenham have announced a new long-term contract for defender Djed Spence. The 25-year-old full-back has netted twice in 42 appearances for the Europa League winners since arriving from Middlesbrough in 2022.
He played the full 90 minutes in Saturday’s 3-0 Premier League win over Burnley and featured in last week’s UEFA Super Cup against Paris Saint-Germain, which Spurs lost on penalties after a 2-2 draw. Spence’s previous deal, signed last October, ran until 2028, and the new terms come after a breakthrough campaign with the club.
The England Under-21 international made 35 appearances in the 2024-25 season, having made his first-team debut in December more than two years after joining. He has also spent time on loan at Rennes, Leeds and Genoa during his spell in north London.
