Will Ferrell’s elf costume from the Christmas film Elf could fetch between £100,000 and £200,000 at Propstore’s Winter Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction. The green, white, yellow and black outfit originates from producer Jon Berg and is screen matched to the lift scene in which Buddy presses the buttons to light them up like a Christmas tree. The 2003 film about a man raised as Father Christmas’s elf who travels to New York to find his real father is widely regarded as a festive favourite and a staple of Christmas cinema.

Propstore’s sale also features other items, including the hoverboard used by Michael J. Fox’s Marty McFly in Back to the Future Part II (1989) and Part III (1990), with a pre-sale estimate of £60,000 to £120,000 (€69,000–€138,000). A heavily annotated personal shooting script from Die Hard (1988), once owned by Alan Rickman, could fetch £30,000 to £60,000 (€34,500–€69,000). Rickman’s annotated Love Actually shooting script will also go under the hammer. The collection’s top lot is Boba Fett’s EE-3 carbine blaster from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980), with a pre-sale estimate of £350,000 to £700,000 (€402,500–€805,000). Other highlights include Harrison Ford’s fedora from Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom (1984), estimated £150,000 to £300,000 (€172,500–€345,000), and Tobey Maguire’s symbiote suit with lenses from Spider-Man 3 (2007), £75,000 to £150,000 (€86,250–€172,500). A number of horror props will also be auctioned, such as Ghostface’s mask from Scream (1996) and Jack Nicholson’s axe from The Shining (1980), each expected to fetch £50,000 to £100,000 (€57,500–€115,000). Additional items include an SFX baby dragon Viserion from Game of Thrones, the Tinker Bell costume worn by Julia Roberts in Hook (1991), and Will Smith’s Agent J suit from Men in Black (1997).

Each piece is a tangible piece of storytelling history, connecting fans directly to the films that shaped their imaginations.’ The company is holding a two-day public exhibition at The Cumberland Hotel in London from 25 November, ahead of a three-day live auction starting on 5 December. The 1,350 items are valued at a combined £8 million (€9.2 million).
