Nine people seriously injured after train stabbing, police say
Counter-terrorism police are leading inquiries after a mass stabbing on a high-speed train that had just departed Peterborough station in Cambridgeshire. Nine people were left with life-threatening injuries. Officers shot a man armed with a large knife with a Taser as they intervened during the attack.
The incident occurred on the 6.25pm Doncaster to London King’s Cross service on Saturday. British Transport Police said two people have been arrested in connection with the stabbings. There have been no fatalities reported so far, and a tenth person sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The Prime Minister described the incident as deeply concerning as investigations continue, with counter-terrorism officers involved in the inquiry.
