Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly to leave Strictly Come Dancing
Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly have confirmed they will depart Strictly Come Dancing at the end of the current series. In a joint Instagram post, the presenters said they have enjoyed fronting the show together since 2014 and that now feels like the right time to go.
Daly has presented the series since its 2004 launch alongside the late Sir Bruce Forsyth, while Winkleman has fronted its weekday companion It Takes Two and joined the main programme as a Saturday host from 2014 after Forsyth stepped down. The pair were later recognised with MBEs in the King’s Birthday Honours for their services to broadcasting.
They thanked the BBC and the team working on the show and said they would miss the staff. They added that they would likely say the programme’s signature line to each other, even in tracksuit bottoms at home with pizza.
