A 61-year-old man, Peter Windsor of Stechford in Birmingham, is on trial at Birmingham Crown Court charged with two counts of stalking causing serious distress to Myleene Klass and Katie Breathwick, both associated with Classic FM. He denies the allegations. Prosecutors say the defendant sent a string of parcels and letters between 2020 and 2024 that were obsessive in tone, and which security staff intercepted, including outfits such as Catwoman and a police officer, a will-writing kit, a note about using a whip and cane, and other gifts.
The Crown contends the material demonstrates an obsessive interest in the two presenters and caused the women to worry about going to work. Windsor is said to have sent a letter to Ms Klass addressed to “correct” him, and to have written to Ms Breathwick as “Sir Peter Windsor,” with items including binoculars, running shoes, champagne and a stamp collection. The air pistol addressed to Ms Klass was reportedly delivered but intercepted in November 2023. The defence maintains the behaviour did not amount to stalking and that the women did not ask him to stop, suggesting publicity motives by the recipients instead. Police later arrested Windsor in September 2024 at his home, where officers found London maps, gloves, stockings and binoculars among other items.
The prosecution notes that Windsor said some items were sent “as a joke,” including jewellery pieces such as a silver ring, a necklace and a heart-shaped pendant, and claimed the gun was also sent as a joke. He asserted that Klass did not appear genuinely frightened and suggested she was being blackmailed by the cost of living in London. The case continues in court.
