Unite urges furlough scheme for JLR supply chain workers hit by cyberattack
Unite has called for a government furlough scheme to aid workers in Jaguar Land Rover’s supply chain affected by the carmaker’s cyberattack. The union said some members were being laid off with reduced or no pay, and others had been advised to apply for universal credit.\n\nUnite argues that thousands of workers should receive a furlough arrangement similar to the scheme announced this week for staff at Alexander Dennis. It said the government must safeguard jobs and industries that are vital to the economy and should follow the Scottish government’s approach in this case.\n\n
