Ex-Arsenal footballer Partey pleads not guilty to rape charges
Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has pleaded not guilty to five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, involving three women. The offences are alleged to have occurred between 2021 and 2022 during his time with Arsenal. Partey appeared at Southwark Crown Court, confirming only his name, date of birth and not guilty pleas.
Partey, who now plays for Villarreal in Spain, is due to face trial before a High Court judge at the same court on 2 November 2026. The hearing followed his appearance for Villarreal in a Champions League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur in London the day before.
Judge Christopher Hehir granted bail on the same conditions as at the previous hearing. The conditions include no contact with the three women and a requirement to inform police of any permanent address change or international travel, with the trial set to proceed at Southwark Crown Court.
