Ballas says toyboy days are behind her
Shirley Ballas, the 64-year-old Strictly Come Dancing judge, has said “my toyboy days are behind me” as she indicated she does not expect to have another relationship. The former dancer split from partner Danny Taylor in December after six years together, and he is 13 years younger than her.
Ballas said the breakup occurred because they were not growing together and she needed some peace. She recalled a relative of Taylor contacting her late last year after he went missing, and she spoke of memories of her older brother David, who died by suicide in 2003, resurfacing.
She added that she does not expect to enter another relationship, though if it happened it would need to be with someone calmer and moving in the same direction. “I think my toyboy days are behind me. I reckon anything from 55 to 70 if they’re fit.”
