Kathryn Scott, 44, a Virgin Atlantic flight attendant, was removed from a plane at Heathrow after drinking wine the night before. She had crashed her black Hyundai at a roundabout on the way to the airport and was driven to work by a member of the public after leaving her car at the scene.

At Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court, she denied a single charge of performing an aviation function while over the alcohol limit on 12 June. After the incident was reported, she was kept off the flight until police arrived.

Police told the court the crash was reported and she admitted to being involved. She said she had two glasses of wine eight hours before the flight. A blood test showed 91 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood, more than four times the 20 milligrams per 100 millilitres limit for aviation staff. Magistrates were told she has a liver condition, which may affect how she processes alcohol. She attributed the crash to steering problems with the car. Scott, of Ottershaw, Surrey, was bailed to appear at the same court for trial on 11 December 2025.
