Five due in court after protest violence

Five people arrested following clashes at a housing demonstration in Valencia are due to appear before a judge tomorrow. The arrests followed Saturday's protest calling for more affordable housing. Nine Policía Nacional officers were injured after some protesters broke through security barriers near the Palau de Les Arts, where a property investment forum was taking place. Border checks with Italy extended

Italy is extending border checks on travellers arriving from Spain for another 15 days. The controls at Italian airports and ports were first introduced in August, following the mass arrival of migrants in Ceuta. Weather warning for heavy rain issued for eastern Spain

Heavy rain is expected across eastern areas from today, with the worst conditions forecast for parts of the Mediterranean coast. The Government has approved two new housing decrees following the eviction of 87-year-old Maricarmen from her Madrid home.
