Radio man. Music lover. Sound obsessive. And apparently someone who thinks a microphone is a perfectly acceptable excuse to talk to himself!

Phil Ord has been involved in radio and broadcasting for longer than he probably cares to admit! His radio journey began back in the early 1990s, working on local stations around Bury and Bolton — and he was there as the foundations of what would become Tower FM began to take shape.

Since then, Phil has worked across stations including Wish FM and Wire FM, as well as Radio Wave, while also building a career as a professional sound engineer, producer and mobile DJ.

These days, Phil brings all that experience to TKO Radio, where he’s involved in much more than just being behind the microphone. From producing commercials, imaging, jingles and station IDs, to helping shape the sound of the station, managing music and getting the technical side working properly, Phil is happiest when he’s making radio sound better.

And, of course, he still loves being on air.

Expect plenty of music, a bit of banter, the occasional questionable opinion and absolutely no shortage of enthusiasm!

Away from the studio, Phil is a family man who enjoys holidays, good food, good company and spending time with the people who matter most. He’s also a firm believer that radio should sound professional, feel personal and, most importantly, never take itself too seriously.
